“The idea of Queer Sarajevo Festival was born in 2006. We started implementing the idea a year later with our partners, but now the Festival symbolically represents the sixth year of the Organization Q’s existence. Queer Sarajevo Festival is a multimedia, five-day event intended to disrupt, redefine, transgress, fulfill and affirm sex, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identities, gender identities, gender expression, and all other concepts the meaning of which is assumed and accepted as absolute truth. The Festival in itself challenges and questions heteronormative and patriarchal values, particularly those centered around the issues of identity, sexuality and human rights.”
